In the cold, cold night

Winter is really here. Finally. Winter and the fog that always comes along with it are making my daily night walks become lovely nostalgic moments. Afternoons end sooner everyday, and every moment feels longer, as the cold air finds its way to reach bits of our skin we left uncovered in an unaware moment.

I have always prefered the winter. Could it be right to say I'm more of a winter person? I don't know, yet as the temperature gets colder, I start to rediscover parts of myself that seem to have been asleep during the warmer months.

I guess my life goes in an opposite direction as that of some animals. A part of me goes to sleep during the summer, awakening to enjoy the beautiful winter.

Winter means spending more time at home. And I love to stay at home, and drink some chamomile while listening to my dad's old vynils.

The skirt was made by yours truly. Its has three segments and velvet strips that divide them. There are little pleats over the velvet strips that my camera is unfortunately not good enough to zoom in.
The funny thing is, its a summer skirt. Yet I haven't worn it once during the summer.
Maybe something about it goes better with my winter personality?

You look lovely. It's so strange to hear about someone going through winter when I'm starting summer. I do love both seasons though. Winter makes me nostalgic as well, so many holidays and so many family gatherings indoors with fires and stories.

Jimena, great job on the skirt! i love it! and don't worry about your feelings towards winter. My favorite season is autumn/fall. the air is just so crisp and i feel magic durnig that time of year. winter is like that for you...

Jimena, I don't know how cold it gets in Lima, or how many changes the current season provokes, although I'm quite sure it's very different from the danish winter, for example. I doubt one loves the winter here, when it gets dark around 3:30pm and the sun rises at 9am. I really really hate winter. I also hate it because I make a tremend effort to look good - what to say stylish - during this time of the year. Impossible when one has thick wool pants underneath jeans or pants, a very thick and heavy coat, sometimes a sweater underneath.. not to mention gloves, wool scarves, some hat, and then taking it all while entering somewhere, than putting it on again Argh, I'm so glad it's spring:-) And soon, summer! ^.^

Ah, your skirt is quite lovely. Enjoy the season, it seems a thousand times less roughier than here. Must be like in the south of Brazil. Then it does feel nice when it's winter.

You are sooooo adorable. I'm a winter person as well. I love layers and I always feel that people looking so much more mysterious under various wraps... The skirt is really a great job! It's the best asset to transit into winter xx

Thanks for your comment on my blog a while ago!
It's strange hearing that it's winter where oyu live whereas here, summer is just starting.
But me too, I love to curl up on the sofa and listen to old vinyls when it's cold outside!
The skirt is lovely, but to me, it looks like it could be both a winter and a summer skirt.
